An article from Workday Minnesota this week addresses the latest statistics from the Federal Bureau of Labor that say construction workers have the highest occupational incidence of injuries and deaths.

The article says that construction worker deaths accounted for greater than 1 in 5 workplace fatalities in 2005, which amounts ot 1,186 construciton deaths out of 5,702 total workplace deaths that year. In the construction industry, national deaths occurred at a rate of 11 for every 100,000 workers, while overall national workplace deaths occurred at a rate of 4 for every 100,000 workers.
