A 33-year-old man was killed in a car accident on Friday. The accident happened in Montgomery on Interstate 65. The driver lost control of his vehicle and hit a concrete barrier.
The area where the fatal crash occurred was in the northbound lane of I-65, beyond most of the construction hazards that have been a constant in the area since state highway crews began work on a widening and resurfacing project last year.
A spokesperson for the Alabama Department of Public Safety said Monday that preliminary reports don’t indicate that construction hazards played any role in the fatal crash.
The victim was from Millbrook. There was no one else in the vehicle and it was a single car accident. Alabama State Troopers are still investigating the accident to find out the cause. It is unknown if the victim died at the scene.
